CALLING ALL FIENDS, a collection of frightening, damaging and disturbing music conjured up for Halloween, is now available at OddioOverplay.com

http://www.oddiooverplay.com/ears/fiends/

Halloween is meant to be scary, right? Year after year we dust off the old silly novelty records. While they are fun, they not at all frightening. Oddio Overplay put the challenge to musical artists the world over to create Halloween music that is "frightening, damaging and disturbing." No "Monster Mash," instead creepy soundtracks to a fiendish Halloween. They succeeded with CALLING ALL FIENDS, a two hour collection of their original pieces.

On Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December the international pop music event takes place again in the Jaarbeurs Utrecht, The Netherlands: the Mega Record & CD Fair. This biannual show - as always held in conjunction with the Collectors Fair - is renowned as the greatest record fair in the world by DJs, experts, collectors and fans of pop music. Over 500 exhibitors display the collected history of pop music from the past fifty years in the shape of singles, albums, 12-inches, CDs and DVDs. As usual the programme includes live performances, signing sessions and guest deejays. The fanclubs of major rock stars are represented and there are many pop related articles, such as posters, pictures, books and magazines.

The main attraction of the fair remains the gigantic assortment of records on offer. Partly thanks to young people's enthusiasm for deejaying vinyl is totally hot again. There is no fun without vinyl - in pubs, at parties, at home and all kinds of gatherings playing records is a must. The trendiest accessory at the last Mega Fair was the portable record player, to listen to tunes on site before buying.

The fifth Pop & Rock Memorabilia Auction is celebrated with a special selling exhibition, dedicated to the work of Dutch poster-artist Martin Kaye. Between 1972 and 1984, Kaye designed and printed over 1100 posters for concerts in Paradiso of national and international rockbands in editions of 150. Most of them were used for publicity in and around Amsterdam, so very few originals are left. In co-operation with the Martin Kaye Foundation the most beautiful 115 screenprints will be auctioned by sealed bid. At the fair Kaye's complete works will be presented on DVD with a selection of the posters shown on postcards.

The Damned is the focus of the fair's regular pop exhibition, put together by the French rockmagazine Presto. Their first single 'New Rose' came out at the end of 1976. The exhibition offers a near complete overview of all singles, LPs and CDs released world-wide by this punkband, from most European countries to South-Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Completed by issues on coloured vinyl or rare covers and other memorabilia - such as jackets, pictures and posters.

Regular visitors of Weirdomusic.com will be delighted to know that there will also be a display of around 100 record covers with an exotic theme, selected by Dutch DJ Eddy de Clercq from his private collection.

The brand new Jean-Jacques Perrey (featuring Dana Countryman) CD The Happy Electropop Music Machine is out now! This project is an insanely happy instrumental collection of original tunes which also includes a handful of melodies by other composers. Using classic "Moog" style analog synthesizers, as well as acoustic instruments, the CD is styled to be very retro, and very happy!

Reviews and sound samples can be found here. Ordering info is here.
