Great news for Moog fans:
"Reboot Stereophonic is proud to announce the release of its second album, a double CD set by the Moog keyboard pioneer, Gershon Kingsley.Kingsley is best known as the electronica visionary who made the world snap its fingers to the sound of 'Popcorn' which has been covered over a hundred times from the sublime (Kraftwerk) to the ridiculous (Crazy Frog). Now, for the first time on CD, comes a complete overview of Gershon's fusion of his Jewishness and the way way out sounds of his Moog. In 1968, Gershon Kingsley bought a giant modular model from Robert Moog himself for $3500. In 1972, Kingsley decided it only made sense to apply his Moog skills to Jewish music. He spent the next years persuading cantors such as '50s TV actor Norman Atkins to sing over a series of Moog fusions including the spacey meditation 'The Gates of Prayer,' 'Moog Yiddish Fusion,' 'Maven on the Moog,' and two full-length Moog albums recorded for Jewish rituals: Shabbat for Today (a Shabbat service arranged as a Moog rock opera) and The Fifth Cup (featuring legendary Jewish folk singer Theodore Bikel), where Kingsley applied the same approach to the Passover creating a prog-rock Haggadah. All of this is now compiled on one release. First time ever on CD."
