Shooby “The Human Horn” Taylor has been found

Legendary scat-man Shooby Taylor, the Human Horn, has been found, and he’s about to make his historic live radio debut, on WFMU. Shooby is 72, and due to health complications, can no longer scat or perform. But he’s proud of his recorded legacy, which has grown with the recent discovery of a dozen more tapes of his unique high-octane vocal virtuosity. Hear Shooby riff with Dexter Gordon, Babs Gonzales, Miles Davis and Mozart, as Ken Freedman and Irwin Chusid explore Shooby’s quixotic career and his “scatalogue”.
